I've had all three "most popular/successful" burger/fries joints MULTIPLE times...

IMO..
Five Guys (really good, but still not better than the other two)>Fatburger(also very good, but nothing touches the best)>>>>>In N Out

I like In-n-out better than 5 guys but the best burger in the world is from dave's hamburgers in Fairfield CA. Better than barney's is Berkeley or Buds in Vallejo.

The key is getting the Cajun fries then ask for a side of hot sauce... Mix the ketchup and hot sauce 1/2 & 1/2 then dunk your fries and you good money...☆

Funny to see this thread and I ate 5 Guys today. It's good, but not great...haven't been out to the west coast, so I haven't tried In n Out (yet)
So far, best burger I've had was at Bobby's Burger Palace @ Mohegan Sun Casino in CT.

The grilled cheese at Five Guys %!*$$ all over the grilled cheese from In N Out. Other than that? In N Out is far superior.

i just had five guys the other day (nh) and it was pretty good. but i definately like in-n-out more as a fast food joint. five guys burgers just taste like something i can make at home... nothing really special about it if you ask me... whereas in-n-out tastes like fast food... but way better.

love both but i'd give my vote to in-n-out.
