The weekend before Christmas should be solid for going to clubs in terms of prices. Not going to have any additional markup or anything.
Ladies are always going to look good in Vegas. I just assume that females must pass an aesthetic test before having their rooms approved

Not packed really. The times I've went in the Dec/Jan area weren't bad at all. Went to Vanessa Hudgens bday thing without waiting in line/paying cover. I tend to do a lot more gambling when I go in the winter though, so I might be off with some of this. If I might suggest a weekend though...go during the first weekend of January...CES was a fun weekend to go out. I met a nerdy girl. She was cool

holla at me next time you go..I swear I need a gambling partner like you

I got free rooms at all harrahs properties till the end of this year with exception to the black out dates.

appreciate it, but i'd just disappoint. i just have an uncanny ability for my money to last awhile at lower levels, along with other people using my cards.

you can catch me grading papers poolside labor day weekend outside of tao beach though

I think Encore At the Wynn has a pretty sweet beach party.  Saw DJ Kaskade there awhile back.  Pretty chill, maybe not as well publicized as some of the rest.

Earl of Sandwich is decent late night eats.  Also a Pink Hot Dogs not too far away from that @ PH.

Yeah man. MDW and LDW are rip offs. July 4th is better IMO (middle of summer, pool parties are

)

I mean Vegas is crowded enough on a regular summer weekend. July 4th gets more crowded but not too much like MDW/LDW where they charge insane cover and the lines are ridiculous. I would only do those weekends with bottle service

If you have money to blow, holiday weekends are cool. The prices are all jacked up for cover/entrance and bottle minimums are usually more. I'm going next weekend, and I know it's going to be pretty packed since it's one of the finals weeks of the "summer"

Bro, you didnt even tell me!? U know I'm gunna be there as well! Suite at the Venetian just my boy and I...Let's get it poppin

Just got back from my first trip to vegas, Was hella fun

Landed in on Sunday with no idea it was Magic week . Did the $20 trick at the venetian and got bumped up to a crazy 1400 sq foot room ( Piazza suite) 29th floor , view of Caesars, the strip etc. My gf suprised me by having them bring me ice cream, cake & wine etc . She asked for them to arrive between 630-7...They came lil after 730 . They brought a broken wine opener so it took at least 5-6 minutes on hold ( YES ON HOLD) to get in touch with someone and they brought a complimentary champagne . by that time ice cream was melted.. I didnt complain but whatever..Manager called after & made sure everything was alright.

dressed up, hit the Blackjack Tables while the Gf was getting ready , I hit big & we went to Lavo for My birthday Dinner....we sat outside, I WAS MELTING. living in the bay..def not used to the HEAT . played BJ after that... free drinks, no tao , lavo club was being gay so we went up stairs to continue partying, got kicked out of the casino soon after bla bla ...

Next day I realized we had 3 refrigerators... 2 of them didnt work , the only one that worked was the Venetian one that you have to purchase things... $8 beers, $10 drinks. nah im good. I was quite pissed. I called down stairs, Asked if they could come by & have someone pick up things from yesterday, wine buckets, plates etc & that I left a nice Tip on the table ..and it can go to the first one who comes ( $10 chips)

2 hrs later...come back from lunch.. to get something for my gf that she forgot . Everything is still there , I get upset.. %+* is up with the service ?? I asked nicely to the ladies working the floor and they said they would come take care of it.

THANK GOD.... we walk around the strip , walk off our nice lunch that made me have to take a dump every 20 minutes. Walked from the venetian up to the grand and back , stopp by a few places to have drinks. Checked a few different hotels that I would like to stay in the future...Cosmopolitan was the gf's choice for next time.

next morning was our check out , in the bathroom my gf kicks on a HALF BROKEN GLASS ASHTRAY !! we did not break anything nor know how it got there but jesus christ... what if one of us stepped on it ?? That was it. I wasn't satisfied with the service, I been working in customer service for 10 years now ..& I was not satisfied.

Checking out was easy , Talked to manager...Told him a few things privately with out customers being around . I gave him the warm wine bottle that was in the fridge all night . I gave him the broken glass , There was not much he could do since the GF booked it on expedia. He comped everything (roomservice , resort fees) & gave us 2 free nights next time we come. I would come here again but this place is way too huge , I would much rather stay somewhere more simpler .

Was a great time, Ran even on gambling. Short flight from the bay & hella cheap. $120 RT for me & the gf out of OAKLAND

i'll start:

musts:

Earl Of Sandwich (PH)

Pizzeria @ The Cosmo

Sushi Samba (Palazzo)

avoid:

Yellowtail (Bellagio)

B&B (Venetian)

best buffet:

Mandalay Bay (srs)
Some of my faves...
China Poblano (Cosmo...same chef at Jaleo which is highly rated, havent tried Jaleo yet though. Mexican and Chinese tapas style)

Morels (Palazzo, great service, pot roast I had just slide off the bone. cheese platter was SO on point)

Aquaknox (Venetian, best seafood I've had there)

BLT Burger (Mirage, solid burgers, open late fri/sat)

Still need to try Bouchon (since I'm never going to get to go to French Laundry
laugh.gif
). Also need to try the lobster pot pie at Nobhill at MGM. I also heard there's a great Brazillian Churrascaria off the strip (I think near where Terrible's is?) that I've wanted to try during the times I've had my car there.

+1 on the Burger Bar.  Not a bad burger at all.

For quick lunch eats, I like 'wichcraft sandwiches at the MGM.  Very casual sandwich shop in the Tom Colicchio retaurant family (they have one in NYC too I think).

For nicer dinners

Its been awhile since I been, but L'Atelier de Joel Robuchon at MGM was damn good if you like french cuisine.  Maybe when I hit the lotto, I will try to hit up the regular Joel Robuchon Restaurant in MGM.  Be prepared to drop some bucks.

if you arent a South Strip guy like me, there is also plenty good eats more towards the middle... hell there are good eats everywhere.

The last couple times back I've tried to squeeze in atleast 1 meal at Joe's Stone Crab at the Caesars Forum Shops.  One tip, do NOT order the steak.  Not that its bad persay, but you are paying high end steakhouse prices for what is a very average steak.  The damn place is called Joe's STONE CRAB.  If you like crab, this is the spot.  The stone crab there is on point (Miami NTers will tell you wsup).  I will go in there and order some oysters on the half shell and a plate of stone crab and call it a night/meal.

ikari mentioned Bouchon which is another solid place if you are into french bistro fare and the whole Thomas Keller swag.  I made the "mistake" of going there with a larger group and everyone went bucwild.  Ended up running us about $200/per person but thats because we collectively ordered pretty much everything on the menu.  Price aside, food is good, and hell... youre in Vegas, gotta splurge a bit right?

The one restaurant I been wanting to check out for some time but havent yet is Fleur by Hubert Keller at Mandalay.  Definitely on my hit list for when I go in October for UFC 137.  Anyone ever dined there before?
