I have no dog in this fight but u can't be labeled a bad defender getting scored on by kyrie. I would say he's as average as they come on defense but he's surrounded by elite defenders in dray, iggy and sometimes klay so of course other teams are gonna go at the worse of the 4 who happens to be the smallest. He's not great but he's not pitiful either. LeBron is also a average defender unless we talking coming from a blindside to get a block. When it comes to man to man he's steph on defense.

Exactly my point. That's just not true. There's absolutely nothing that backs this narrative. Steph is absolutely not anywhere near a bad defender. Even when he had an abnormally bad series last year, he still was not bad by the numbers. It's just not true.

I don't go by #'s I go by what I see and what I see dude ain't a good defender. Good defenders don't let their team hide them on defense and get picked on by the other team.

But point being, NBA offense nowadays is way too complex and 3pt centric to where individual defense is "that" valuable.

I mean it helps if you're great at it, but it doesn't even matter if your team defense isn't great.

You can count on two hands the number of consistently really good 1v1 defenders
