***Official Political Discussion Thread***

All I see is a bunch of people who hate our freedom.

because of that drone strike I am free.

I’m conflicted about how I feel about Iranian people though. I simultaneously want to kill their civilians while blowing up their historic sites, really gets the red white and blue juices flowing. But at the same time I care very dearly about spreading democracy to them.

sounds to me like you know how to spread democracy already.

show up, shoot a couple farmers, “accidentally” smoke a whole crew of civilians. “My bad, they looked like terrorists to me.”

destabilize the whole region and roll out once the polls are up and they are electing their new president. When the insurgents come just chill, that’s all part of the plan so we can occupy their country forever and give them some more freedom.

real talk
am i the only one
who talks to their fam
about what to do
or where to meet up if an emergency happens
like big threat or something
like what to do if an emp happens
or if cellphones aint working during a disaster
and how to reach each other
Hold up, you criticized me a couple pages back for being disgusted at WW3 memes because people don’t realize how quickly society can take an actual dark turn (aka war or terror on our soil).
Still waiting for an answer to my question on how you came to the conclusion that I can’t be disgusted about all the things you listed as well? Or do you just come into threads randomly and tell people to grow up?

Is this the "commitment to de-escalation" Pompeo was talking about?
Also, I'm pretty sure targeting important cultural sites is a war crime.

Reading this tweet reminded me of how this monster destroyed priceless Art Deco panels on a building in 1980, ironically right in the middle of the period where those 52 hostages were being held in Iran:

Yet he tries to put a patriotic spin on this by mentioning those hostages. He doesn't give two ****s about his own country's culture, let alone that of others. He is truly the definition of an "uncultured swine". Thinks that having gold-plated toilets makes him classy and that money can buy taste. Just like the Russian oligarchs when they got money after the collapse of the Soviet Union. No wonder he is buddies with so many of them, and is basically one of them.

These guys are souless idiots. They act like they're playing 'Risk' or something.
TBF, geopolitics is sort of like that. It's just that the motivations of GOP elected officials are not deeper than trying to save face in front of their constituents in light of the number of national and international blunders they have been supporting.
This **** is really amazing.
Indeed

Don't know about Weekend at Bernies, but she's still my Jenny from the block.

Yeah, if we were in Europe maybe Biden would be in the main left wing party and she would be in smaller social Democrat/socialist one.

I read the article, she is kinda full of it, and doesn't seem to properly understand the dynamics at play to cause the current state of affairs.

But I guess Bernie gotta win so whatever.

Edit: They are citing a NY Mag interview, so I will read that when I get time.

Now you got me talking out both sides of my mouth.

AOC would eventually end up in the Danish DNC equivalent, because parties further left quickly struggle with the Jill Stein factor. They are too caught up in earth crystals and finger painting to be reliable in any serious political coalition.

Honestly I'm not really happy about any potential candidates yet, I hope someone will emerge or develop into something inspiring. I like Warren, but she belongs in the engine room. Sanders can be inspirational, but also clownish. Biden is all-fatherly, but brain dead to the fact, that the GOP has turned the center into a baren no-mans land filled with land mines. All of them, too old. I'd liked to see more of the not-front runners bring something new to the table, but they just didn't have the advertising spending to justify the pay-to-play media to cover them.

I'm still more worried, than hopeful.
