I will never understand the “Democrats take the black vote for granted”talking point from people that claim be politically conscious. Instead of organizing with and through the party that at the very least advocates for right to be civically represented and allows you the space to do so, you instead want to push people towards a party strategically denying black people the political system wholesale?
The only thing I’d challenge about this characterization Is that it paints Republicans as just not caring or apathetic about the black vote when everything their doing is active and deliberate. They’re choosing not to empower black conservatives, they’re choosing to roll back civil rights protections, they’re choosing to sUppress the black vote. All of those are very active parts of the platform and party.it's some strange logic. Pubs barely make an effort to care about their economically anxious voters' needs

I wasn't trying to suggest Republicans are apathetic to black voters, only that they're apathetic (in practice) to the rural white votes they need to get elected
"their time spent worrying about black voters is mostly limited to how to make their votes count less" - meaning racial gerrymandering and voter suppression

A Conversation With Rudy Giuliani Over Bloody Marys at the Mark Hotel
Excerpts:
I'd love to know what his lawyer has been thinking all this time."I know how not to commit crimes."
Interesting choice of words.
I'd love to know what his lawyer has been thinking all this time.
Not the greatest idea to disparage and taunt the prosecutors investigating him.
It's clear that Rudy is a 'target' in the SDNY investigation. Given his close personal and financial relationship to other targets in the probe, Giuliani is absolutely someone they would want to talk to. Rudy has yet to hear anything from the prosecutors so they see him as a target, not a witness.
It's never a good thing to hear nothing from prosecutors when people around you are being interviewed and you're clearly someone they would normally interview as a witness.
I'm not saying Rudy will necessarily face an indictment but Roger Stone was in the same position. The first thing he heard from Mueller's prosecutors was his indictment.
There are 2 additional factors that point to Giuliani's desgination as a target. Subpoenas for documents included Giuliani's business, and those subpoenas were issued to other individuals.
The second additional factor is that one witness, a Naftogaz executive, has recently publicly stated that he was prepared to testify about both Parnas/Fruman and Giuliani.
I’ve got my sister who lives in Portland OR staying with us, she’s a lib. At dinner she was talking about how she feels bad driving a Jeep and wants to get an EV for the environment I told her that China is the worst polluter in the world so we shouldn’t do **** for the environment until they do!
