STAY/GET BACK IN SHAPE VOL 3.0 -- A New Niketalk = A New Thread

I don't know if I want to bulk or cut :{

I want to be more cut, but I also wanna be a little bigger.

Is it ideal to bulk then cut?

I have anxiety to go to the gym.

Feel like people will make fun cuz I'm out of shape.

Yup, usually anyways. You can do both technically but the process is going to be slower. Its winter time anyway, I think the bro term is "bulking season". :lol

Add some weight now, spring time burn it all off.

I have loads of respect for people that participate in any type of exercise.

Wether crossfit - powerlifting - bodybuilding - biking - hiking - hell even yoga..

I don't, however, have respect with your attitude.

No attack on you, but you'll never know unless you get out there.

I always help out new people in the gym with form, or even introducing myself if they are lost.

I also have zero toleration for people picking on others that aren't up to par ( only saw this in my la fitness years ago).

I feel you :lol I just don't want a higher bodyfat%

I'm gonna do a slower bulk, probably increasing my cals around 300 over maintenance and just do that for a few months and cut after.

I've gymed before. Regularly.

I just think cuz I'm so damn big right now, I should be lifting more.

But thats a me problem I guess.

Thanks man.

Everyone was a beginner once. If you're trying your best, no one will make fun of you. Everyone knows how much hard work it is to get in shape.

Also, you need to realize that you're in the gym for YOU. Not to impress people or make friends. Throw some headphones on and crush that workout. If you have questions, most people in the gym are actually really helpful. They want to put all that knowledge/experience they have to use.

Its never how much weight you push, its how much the weight makes you work.

As ling as you are putting in work and breaking a good sweat, it doesnt matter if youre putting up 135 or 335 on a bench.

Id love to slow bulk but I do too much cardio and always over estimate my calorie intake.

Yea man as long as that blood is pumping and you feel it doesn't matter,
work your muscles not your ego in the gym.

the only people who would make fun of you for going to the gym are losers with their own personal problems.

People in the gym making fun of other people IN the gym are the lowest of the low imo.
everyone had to or has started from somewhere.

I want to say people at the gym are most likely more concerned with themselves and their form when lifting. They are most likely not paying you any attention. Don't pay any one else any attention. Go in, lift, get out. No need to worry about what the next guy is doing or thinking. That's just wasting time.

My friends have similar anxiety going to the gym. I keep trying to explain to them, to no avail, that people who go to the gym are usually too focused to worry about what the other person is doing.

exactly, unless you are making weird noises or smell aint no body paying attention to what you do. srsly :lol

Dont worry about what others think of you.

Just turn up your music and do your thing. 99% of the time, people are doing their thing and wont even notice you tbh

I used to hate doing certain exercises (squats) just cuz I was afraid of ppl watching me doing low weights but I said F it and did my own thing and never worried since

Anyone on "Fierce 5"?

I've been on it since April and have made a solid amount of gains as well as PRs but it's getting hard af doing full body 3x a week with mainly compound movements.

In my experience the only people that will pay attention to you are the people who share your anxiety.

Edit: unless you're a woman, then you may have to deal with the added layer of savages.
