The Official NBA Collective Bargaining Thread vol Phased in Hard Cap

what i dont get is why the big market teams are letting the other owners run the show.

Luxury Tax, no mid level exception, new system, revenue sharing are all in favor of small market teams.

Right. They have a warped sense of reality fighting for things like the mid-level exception?
Come on, you know what I mean. Decertifying will kill the season. The most vocal guys in favor of that are stars who have had long careers and are set for life, or are superstars who have endorsement deals that can keep them afloat (along with having made tens of millions of dollars). Only a very small percentage of players can do that. The rest CANNOT afford to sit out an entire season. Hell, most can't afford to to sit out a few months.

That Plantation Manager analogy Gumble used is sounding more and more accurate.

%$*$ the players and the owners at this point, if there is no NBA this year the blame is on all of them.  Incompetent morons all around on both sides.  Ridiculous how you have the best year since Jordan and you manage to royally %$*$ it up.  It makes me not even want to watch this +@@$ when it comes back.
The names of people I've heard in the meeting are mind-boggling to me...Also, this is America, the thing that continually holds the NBA back is the fact is a black sport.  I haven't heard the name of one white player being involved in the meetings. I think Gunna said it on twitter or something but you have to paint a picture to the fans that is going to make your plight seem sympathetic and unfortunately in America, that is hard to when the situation involves black millionaires.  Also Paul Pierce, Derek Fisher, Kevin Garnett, Dwayned Wade...What are there qualifications to be in these meetings?

This is the clown you want being the most "vocal" representative of your league.  Where are the Emeka Okafor's, Grant Hill's even $#@@!@% Jeremy Lin? These guys have built no sympathy for themselves and played the media horribly with their representatives.  Sending into KG's clown #!* self, a dude with a high school education to shake up the meeting.  Utterly clueless.  And I'm in the players favor but man they do not have a $#@@!@% clue what they are doing.  And its not a race thing but these dudes are mostly uneducated.  Even the ones who go through college for the most part, barely go through college.  Putting the few guys who are actual intelligent and smart that you do have is crucial and they don't seem to get that.

Also someone needs to make a scumbag MJ mean

Story here Michael Jordan leads the NBA hardline owners

It becomes extra ironic when you consider that a couple of the players who, based on what's been reported, are least likely to accept the 50-50 deal are Jordan Brand athletes -- Wade and Ray Allen.

Yeah, I feel if you want a part of negotiations, you have to have a degree, or something. At least make it look like you're sending the smartest guys in your union.

Wait didn't mj talk smack to the wizards owner and said that if he can't afford to own the team then he should sell it?

Irony...

Gathering of NBA owners on Saturday will deal as much with infighting on revenue sharing as it will system-BRI brawl with NBPA, sources say.

What do you expect it's a black league filled with brash personalities going up against a congregation of white owners? The players didn't stand a chance on a PR tip from jump. I just want to see them stick to their guns, that's more honorable to me. %#*$ the season. Stand for what you believe in.

I would air out the owners offering 37% and show what dirty backgrounds some have such as Dan gilbert and his subprime mortgages and casinos. Paint then as petty children who deman guaranteed profits like all the CEO's people hate these days. Show those letters the same owners wouldn't sign when they were winning

It's hard but you lock 10 smart people in a room for a few days it's possible. Get creative. I mean c'mon man they don't even have a plan as far as PR goes.

I'm already cracking and it's just November 4th.

I need the NBA in my life, man.

I need something to look forward to on my nights alone in the winter.

Stop it with this "honorable" garbage. That time is over. At a certain point (which for most players is very soon) holding out on principle is just dumb.
