Meeting over.

Not speaking together, let's just hope they come back tomorrow.

It's kind of early to be ending early tonight, maybe they're hoping to really hammer it home tomorrow. Either that, or we're screwed.

Yes, 50% of players who actually vote. It's like that with all unions. Some people just don't care enough so they're at the mercy of what other people decide. I remember I was forced into a union once and they had votes for random things and I was like "I'm 16, I don't care."

Owners still need that same 50%, although they all must vote. I remember back when the relocation vote came up for the Sonics, Paul Allen wanted to abstain but he couldn't, so he sent a rep to vote "No." His was a political move because he owned another sports franchise in Seattle, so he didn't want to look bad. Although I think he would have voted "No" anyway, just being from Seattle.

@KBergCBS Ken Berger
Fisher: We've worked at it for the as couple of days. Right now we have ... a revised proposal from the NBA. It does not meet us entirely.

FML.

EDIT:

@KBergCBS Ken Berger

Fisher: We've decided to end things for now, take a step back .... confer with our player reps and other players over the next few days.

FML still.

EDIT2:

@KBergCBS Ken Berger

Fisher: We still would like to continue to negotiate and try to get a deal done but right now, it's not that time.

Yep, FML.

Hunter won't say whether he would accept this deal or not. Wants to get players into New York Monday or Tuesday and see what they want.

Makes sense I guess. Seems like a deal would have to blow them away in order to accept it without talking with player reps. But goddamn, the anticipation is

@KBergCBS Hunter says there are another 30 or 40 secondary issues that also need to be resolved.

Looks like the union will take a few days to look over the revised offer and decide next week.

Edit:

Why not just Skype with each other rather than waste time and money traveling to New York?

@ESPNSteinLine Marc Stein
Union director Billy Hunter announces that he hopes to meet with player reps Monday or Tuesday in NYC to make decision on NBA's latest offer

@KBergCBS Ken Berger
Hunter said he indicated to Stern that union needed time to review offer with player reps.

I guess I could be looking at this wrong way and putting a negative tone to it because I'm not watching live, but reps better realize this might be last chance to get anything close to a deal done before they swipe the slate clean and start with a really bad offer.

@WojYahooNBA Adrian Wojnarowski
Hunter on owners latest offer "It's not the greatest proposal in the world, but I have an obligation to bring it to (the membership)..."

Yeah, makes sense.

Lets see how this plays out.

I can't be the only one who's damn tired of waiting to see how things play out, it's been like that the past like 4 months.

I really don't think they'd really take away their offer. Too much posturing to tell.
