Kanye West: King of the Sunken Place, "Watch the Throne"

It's the same surface level contrarianism I was talking about. Homie from TMZ put it best, "I don't think you're thinking anything".
Im gonna stop being a contrarian. Kanye got me seeing how lame that ish is.

You had a post in the political thread a couple of weeks ago that hit the nail right on the head. Can’t find it...but it’s spot on.

Repost it if you can dawg :lol

I look at Ye the same way I look at Dame, they both mean well and are right to an extent, but the delivery of it is hard to digest for some ppl

that kinda how i see it...seemingly neither has the art of nuance or tact when it comes to articulating what they mean, i feel like the both speak in incomplete thoughts that in the abstract could be percieved as 'analytical' tho kanye is worse because he seems more emotional & self-indulgent but less critical...people will (understandably) latch on the the choice commentary about slavery though in absolute terms you could, callously, call it a choice, albeit one coerced through/with violence & systemic opression (i sort of image the people that loved the kilmonger ending the fictional black panther to be on this wave)...it's just a nonsense context to even think about and i'm stuck wondering what point kanye is even trying to make...

How is that the criteria we judge his words on? And him consigning a vile bigot without considering what that represents not make his word problematic? Is he trying to place the blame of America's greatest sin on the victims of that plunder not make his words problematic?

He words don't have directly make the life of a black person worst for them to be problematic. They can be that way because they are uninformed, ignorant and inconsiderate.

Also Kanye West is endorsing a vile bigot that is using his power to make the lives of many minorities worst. He has already done so in his limited time in office, anyone paying attention to politics knows this. Kanye has the influence of many, if his nonsense is taken seriously and more people adopt this ignorance then less might vote against Trump. Trump only became president by the slimmest of margin too. Then Trump will have more time to negatively affect the lives of people Kanye swears he cares about. And white supremacist will have Kanye's words to use as a rhetorical shield

Kanye West can't demand a free and open platform of ideas that go against the supposed status quo, they have an issue when pushback comes. In that case, he is not demanding freedom, he demanding privilege. At a minimum, he should at least have a defense for his views beyond hand waving, narcissistic deflections

ultimately, kanye is a guy that makes music and has ambitions to do things beyond music in a number of arenas where he doesn't appear nearly as qualified...it is hard to see what his end game is or could be?? given kanye's upbringing, i find it hard to believe he wouldn't have known the consequence of espousing/saying these type things...but it also seems quite obvious that he hasn't thought through them, even really done any of the knowledge, or perhaps worse dismisses it, similar to his 'dragon energy' mancrush #45...

still tho, he hasn't as much endorsed #45, if kanye were savvier he'd be able to make the distinction from the person who inhabits the office to the ability that someone who just was not taken seriously was able to connect with people and achieve something that was not only deemed unlikely, but nearly impossible, it would be inspiring if the the actual person wasn't such a clown...i don't know if it would be enough of a separation, but the fact that he seems pretty unaware of any policy or stance of 45 seems like it might have been possible...

More power to you my g, i'm rooting for you. Being contrary itself isn't a bad thing supported by facts and enough proper thought.

That said,

TMZ dude Van completely OBLITERATED Kanye.

Ye preaching about "free thinking" yet he failed to realize his ignorant and insensitve remark he said about slavery. Like I get the "oh, it's my opnion you don't have to agree with it" BS but seriously, SLAVERY?! One race?! Nah man.

He prolly hasn't thought about the fact that after he cashes in whatever agenda he's trying to achieve or advocate, he'll just be another dude Trump and MAGA people won't care about. He had everything working out for him and he ruined his reputation.

This one?
Crazy thing is dudes so soft brained and will buy it. Some cats just scout youtube for any contrary/dissenting opinion then run with it to bolster their own fake intelligence and false sense of knowing more because they "think differently". Whole time you just a soft brained sucker.

Problematic for the truth.

What he is saying is false. Straight up. His words are not problematic because he wants to mislead, they are problematic because he speaks ignorantly about blackness and American history with the confidence of an erudite person.

And he has millions of followers. That's dangerous.

If you got a problem strictly with what he said today on TMZ ...I can understand, that can easily be misinterpreted or used in the wrong way by an alt right warrior or something, but ****** wanted his head B4 today, before he said anything even about Black ppl. He said he loved Trump and wore the MAGA hat and liked how the Candace Owens chick thought and ppl been piling on ever since...The TMZ **** was just the icing on the cake. So a rich black trump supporter automatically means self hatred?

He needs to watch “Good bye Uncle Tom” (one of the worst films I’ve ever seen but afraid that it’s a close reenactment of slavery)

The disrespect in calling it a choice :smh::sick:
