i been looking into the hollywood industry lately (Esp the agency/management side) and learned that it really is run by gays. esp after entourage i thot gays were the assistants, etc but heard/met a lot of power players and agents that are actually gay. was told agents are divas so what better job for them eh? im interested to see how it is first hand once i get hired in....

but the fact about connections being the key to making it is 100% dead on. i applied for every agency/industry with my resume and heard back from only a couple (zero agencies). some agencies even sent me a rejection letter within the hour (with the explaination their whole board reviewed it thoroughly..cmonnn)

but once u have a connection-whether it be an assistant or a player, boom- you at least get a call back or get looked over. it gets you to the interview phase but if you have no talent, you're left in the dust either way.

not entirely sure what the point is of hearing the names.

chances are you can think of anyone off the top of your head and you'll likely be right.

TV production is the bottom run of the ladder!
you wanna see where the bog boys play? get to a Motion Picture talent Dept of an agency.

Guys bottom line entertainment is tough, a lot of the bosses can be like Ari gold but TV is some bull!

But.....he is right about the gay thing, 40% of dude area gay. And if you're black your gonna have a hard time unless its TV, where anyone has a shot.

Work for FREE! do good and then they pay you, everyone without connections does it this way i did and so did all of my friends.

No one makes more money in TV then in MP (motion pics)

Actors: MP wins
Writers MP crushes
Directors: MP crushes

Lit loses to Talent
and TV loses to MP

Sure we have syndication money and you're right that its sick nasty but that takes 100 episodes, not exactly the same as one movie netting Spieiberg, Cameron or Michael Bay 400 million in a year. And ill take Star Wars Money over 10 syndicated shows.

in every single agency, the TV people are jokes. Promise

These are facts not my opinion, TV is less stress and steady once you get up running.

Keep you head up wisepharoah, one word of advice....its much easier to make it with a smile on your face. (not saying you dont) The number one thing is that people burn out along the way.

I work at a top 2 agency, that should tell you which one right away.
