***Official Political Discussion Thread***

The actual answer is stop believing everything the Politicians, media and every opinion article are saying. Every promise, and every word that comes of these politician's mouth are not genuine or true. It's all a calculated strategy to invoke an emotional response to get you to vote a certain way.

Bingo.
You don't have to believe it to take issue with the rhetoric.

And are you going to answer my initial question?

The point is Trump is an actor, entertainer and knows to be in the spot light. Trump needs to provide some new or fresh controversy each and every single day for the media to go crazy over. After a few days, if Trump is fading from the daily news, he will state the next dumb statement like today.

Aka Trump cuttin WWE promos

Dead serious in the sense of not glossing over it like such rhetoric doesn't have a hazardous influence on society.

Logic like this used to be made to condemn rap music, its been debunked...or are we extrapolate everything "hazardous" to rhetoric?

You're comparing art (music) to the statements of politicians running the country or candidates to run the country
Any negative influence rap has is nowhere near the level of negative influence a US president can have.

I assumed white supremacists preferred Trump over Cruz cuz Rafael's last name is "Cruz". Some times the bigotry is that simple

They'll take the white, mostly orange rich Aryan adjacent looking dude that's also an "outsider".

Da right answer is rhetoric whether in rap or political dont make people do **** they arent already predisposed to doing.

People have to be responsible for their own actions and not for things that "influence" them

Rhetoric does have an influence on people's actions, whether its from a rapper or a politician. People are responsible, in the end, for their own actions but BILLIONS of dollars are spent on propaganda and rhetoric to influence those actions. If Ice-T had no influence, he wouldn't be on TV.

I just wanna see Ninja attend a trump rally so I know it's real.
He'd probably catch the fade from a fellow supporter who thinks he's there to make trouble because of the color of his skin.

yea, they dont let too many black men into trump rallies

be careful ninjahood

Trump once aagin simply taking conservative orthodoxy to it's logical endpoint.

If you are in favour of banning abortion, then you have to have some type of deterrent to prevent women from seeking out illegal clinics. And if we define the life as beining at conception these abortions would be murder, so they should be tried for murder.

#nevertrump conservatives noticeably quiet. :nerd:

That couldn't be further from the truth.

Here's two books that are legally online for free in pdf form that I highly recommend on the subject of the subconscious mind and the manipulation of said mind by our "leaders".

"Manufacturing Consent" by Noam Chomsky

Add to this list "The Century of the Self"

Poor Hillary. She knows the end is near smh.

"Greenpeace has tracked $1,259,280 in bundled and direct donations from lobbyists currently registered as lobbying for the fossil fuel industry. This number excludes donations from lobbyists who are employed directly by a fossil fuel companies, as those donations would have been included in the previous number.

Last are contributions from fossil fuel interests to Super PACs supporting Hillary Clinton. Greenpeace has found $3,250,000 in donations from large donors connected to the fossil fuel industry to Priorities Action USA, a Super PAC supporting Secretary Clinton’s campaign.

All told, the campaign to elect Hillary Clinton for president in 2016 has received more than $4.5 million from lobbyists, bundlers, and large donors connected the fossil fuel industry.

Hillary's establishment record is working against her at the moment. If it ends up being Hillary v. Cruz it may work in her favor again.

Question to the other Bernie supporters, how do you expect Bernie to get elected president without the help of "the establishment"

I don't see any repercussions for Hilary. It's not like she's the only one getting fossil fuel money. That money extends to the party as a whole, congress, chambers of commerce etc. If you throw her in jail then you gotta throw them all in jail. And that doesn't happen without MAJOR pressure from the public.

He can't.

Or he does and is forced to play ball or has been playing ball all along.

I lean more towards the fact that he never stood a chance.

When you factor in super delegates, gerrymandering, the popular vote only being considered barring an electoral tie (has only happened once or twice), the commission on presidential debates etc. one could argue that the "election" itself is an illusion.

Famb, we been had our battles. And I feel you more answer this question to push the "it is all an illusion" steez rather than discuss Bernie's political strategy

So I'm just gonna skip over this response. No offense though

I'm not going to claim myself as a Bernie Supporter but a lot of my closest friends are.

That being said, to answer your question, yeah thats the problem, I find, with supporting a candidate.
