So does Malcom X having homosexual relations change your view on him?

How about you actually pick up the book first before you make a judgment clown

This isn't new. People who know about Malcolm X know about these allegations and also know that they have a very strong possibility of being true.

It was a part of his past riddled with terrible acts along a quest for finding truth. There are a lot of terrible things he did in his past before becoming a powerful leader. The fact that this gets singled out gives legitimacy to claims of possible prejudice.

I'm guessing toward white people, which is kinda funny since Ghandi has been linked to that as well. I can't blame either of them for feeling that way if they truly did.

First off, keep it civil champ.  Second, at the end of the day the book is still based on ALLEGATIONS, for what it's worth why would I want to read a book based on fiction.  Third, the author is dead, be it a few days ago or 20 years ago, we still dont' have a way to question some of his points and findings directly, classic case of the dog chasing it's tail.

Also, nobody addressed my point from earlier so I will highlight it again below..............

You think if Ronald Reagan had allegations of him being gay that those stories would leak out to the general public or even a book would even make it to the book shelf to be sold...............that thing wouldn't even get approved to be published, it just wouldn't happen, not for THEIR hero.  See alot of you dudes fall for the banana in the tailpipe every time and some of the posts in here are a prime example of that.

I mean, way before the NOI he used to make money performing sexual exploits...

...like, white dudes payin' to watch him smash their wives and whatnot - these allegations aren't far-fetched, nor is this the first time I've heard them.

Does it change my view on X if they are indeed true? Not in the least bit...

...and as a matter of fact, I'm not Muslim, but it speaks volumes as to how much he truly turned his life around and how incredibly lost he was as a youngster.

Now, MLK on the other hand? My dude tore down women left and right with no remorse

As seen and noted in today's times Abraham Lincoln helped free the slaves, not exactly a hero to large portion of white America back then if you get my point.

Actually, that book would get published solely on the basis that it'd make a ton of money
......and if it did the publisher would be discredited the moment they tried to state their case in an interview.  They would dig up every little bit of dirt on that person that could find going back to their days in elementary school.  Now all of a sudden somebody write a book about Malcolm X and it's just widely accepted as truth by alot of you dudes, SMH.  They got alot of you dudes right where they want you.

Come on guy, you can't base your entire argument on some loose hypothetical statement that nobody can ever prove.

Also, who is this "they" that would prevent some book about Reagan that doesn't exist from getting published?

Come up with an intelligent argument that isn't just "well if X was this, this wouldn't happen." That has nothing to do with anything we are talking about man

And yes if Ronald Reagen was gay believe it would be published...Just like Thomas Jefferson was known to have a mistress/relationship with a slave.  Read the book man before you form an opinion.

Dude is the epitome of a strong black man homosexuality has always been viewed as taboo and unnatural in the black community. Its not acceptable .Its always been associated with weakness. This dude set the standards for alot of young black males and is a hero to many of us. To see them say that would make young black males feel alienated by a hero and cast doubt on his actions and beliefs. He wouldn't be viewed as the hero he was anymore.
If Malcom's struggles and all he did for you could be wiped away from history because of his past sexual desires, then you are doing a greater disservice to your community than the black folks shucking and jiving on street corners in the 20s.
No I wouldnt be but it would cast doubt on him and could errode his influence on black males.Like another poster said dude was held at a higher standard and was  a huge voice to this day in the community.Something like this would hurt his legacy .
