These WSHH videos are killing us.

<Such a smart statement, stick to apple products bro.Hope that wasn't considered racist

I feel you OP. I don't visit WSHH regularly.  For a while now I've been feeling like a number of the vids are just too ignorant.  The fights and the 'look what I got the homeless person to do' vids are just too much for me.  It really hit home for me when the fight in FAMU's cafeteria was posted.  It was painful watching students at my alma mater making the school and themselves look so bad. The comments from NTers on that thread didn't make it better, it's like people expect us to act like animals.

WSHH isn't the problem though.  The problem is 'ignorance.'  The same type of vids can be viewed on many other websites showcasing Black ignorance, White ignorance, Hispanic ignorance, whatever.  Moreover, think about shows like the Bad Girls Club or Jersery shore.  More ignorance = higher popularity.

Until we find a cure of ignorance, this is what we're stuck with. I definitely feel you though OP.  You've made a very valid point.

@ that video. My over-analysis of this video is

a) awesome transition from punches to takedown to side control to full mount
eek.gif
pimp.gif
laugh.gif

b) this kid seems like his dad is military or something. "SAY 'YESSIR,'" "When I talk to you, you talk to me back!"

Let's take the WSHH "video" aspect out of the equation....let's focus on the people.

I fail to see how a lady going HAM on the counter at Burger King speaks for blacks...

I fail to see how a rapper getting a sundae tatted on his cheek speaks for blacks...

It goes on and on...

WSHH is SO small in the grand scheme of things...this website, or the people who are the focal points of the videos DON'T speak for the masses.  Same people who believe that are probably the same ones who think that the black mouthpiece is either Al Sharpton or Jesse Jackson.  There is no redeeming quality for WSHH other than cheap laughs.  Anyone who thinks that these videos are an accurate representation of a group of people is foolish.

You gotta understand that the world is bigger than what you see on WSHH.

maybe it's me, but I really do like WSHH.com...

the videos there are
pimp.gif
and it has nothing to do with blackculture this or white culture that.

I work with white people and they don't even know what a WSHH is for that matter. Half think BET is a casino table game. and fyi, BET isn't available in certain markets where majority are white.

so for all you cultural evangelist, chillllll, nothing online is destroying the black community. we need to realize the pin stops at the needle.

however, what I believe is ruining black community is Michael Jordan, Tiger Woods, Chris Brown, Rhianna, Kanye West, Jay Z, Wiz Khalifa, and Barack Obama. Not enough positive imagery like in the 80s when we had Rev Al Sharpton, quanell X, and others to help carry the word of the unspoken.

Barack Obama? Seems like the president of the United State of America would be the epitome of positive imagery.  Just my opinion though..

You would think, for a person with SOO much power, to have an influence. If anything, he's disappointed the very same people who voted for him.
Murders are up, crimes are up within our communities so he's provided little to know influence.

Like I said before, everything that we do affects each other, whether it's online or not. There is a reason why old ladies clutch their purses when young black men walk by. We do not live in a perfect world, where people judge us after they meet us. We live on a country where we are guilty before being proved innocent. It matters not how big or small you think WSHH is, it doesn't serve a positive role, and it isn't needed. Why are we arguing for the right to make ourselves look foolish?

Actually that would be interesting to look up. Like find out what percentages of races visit WSHH. I wonder if that would sway people to think otherwise.

But ignorance is entertaining, just like "You Are So Dumb" gif wouldn't exist without WSHH...But I agree it's not hurting African-American progress
but it is magnifying and providing a platform for alot of socio-economical  problems with reinforce prejudicial attitudes towards African-Americans
.

I would also like to go on record and say I think as of late 2010 I've observed what I believe is the horizon of true egalitarianism

Whatever imaginary notions of egalitarianism that exist in your mind are not feasible in a materialistic society that is naturally based on social hierarchy. The closest thing to egalitarianism is primitivism.

WSHH does reflect the ignorance plaguing our communities....we have to propagate consciousness so people will elevate themselves.

You missed what I was saying bro, WSHH just provides a platform for ignorance...there's sites and television shows which provide the same platform for Caucasians (TMZ, Jerry Springer, Jack"Donkey")  I just think African-Americans have poor negative self image which really isn't our fault. But African-Americans from the inner-city without exposure to a larger community and culture are surrounded by ignorance and mis-education so they tend frown upon anything that resembles negativity amongst African-Americans as if the racism would stop if the ignorant behavior was silenced.

If someone doesn't like you because the color of your skin, it's not gonna change with if you're rich or poor..they're RACIST

I think sheer racism had been no existent for years, it's more or less socio-economic segregation....but honestly who's want an ignorant uncultured ****** around them or jeopardizing their safety? I know African-Americans who don't want those kind of people around.
