Petyon Manning will go down as the GOAT

No, you don't. To assume that you do and to make non educated statements about Brady being a choker only exemplifies how little you really do know. Nt is filled with characters such as yourself who pretend to have knowledge, but in reality don't know what they're talking about. Funny how you have to resort to name calling, the irony.

The only place he went last night is on the ground...

The title of this thread can still come true.

But, this is the guy who people wanted to crown for the past 2 weeks, the guy who everyone swore up and down would not allow a loss, that would at a minimum put up 3 TD's and not be held under 30 total team points.

And after the first quarter he did NOTHING. & capped it off in failure.

All I know, is to Me...that is not a GOAT. And if it is, it's by default and if that's the case and nobody has clearly separated themselves from the discussion, there is no GOAT.

...and we've seen no criticism for him walking off the field, why?

please can one of you guys please explain how he choked this game away.
it's the opposite, he did nothing to win it. That's the problem. And "GOATS" don't do that.

Peyton Manning is in my top 5 for QB's I've seen in my lifetime...it can debated if he's the number 1, but in no order...I've got Montana, Elway, Marino, Manning, and Brady

And that is stone cold truth.

QB has gotten so damn cluttered now, there is no possible way to say #1 above all and beyond.  I could make a case right now for Montana, Elway, Brady, Manning, Favre, and still leave out Marino my all time favorite player and the guy that I would want with my life on the line to win a game.  But it can't be measured.  It's like saying who is the best hitter of all time, Ruth, Bonds, Pujols, Musial, Ted Williams, Ty Cobb, Pete Rose, Hank Aaron.......it can't be proven.

We can pour over stats and situations and blame others and do all this forever, but there is ZERO way that Peyton can be proven as the best.  Not when he keeps losing playoff games.

Remember, Elway was 0-3 in super bowls and getting old as hell, suddenly Terrell Davis shows up, and Elway wins 2 bowls back to back.  Did those erase the other 3 he lost?  No.  But he's still right up there.  Multiple super bowls, stats, heart, leadership, arm strength and so on and so on.

Peyton is an absolute pleasure to watch.  He is a machine for a QB.  He has led a great offense every year he's played in the league, but it simply can not be proven that he is the best to ever play the position.  ONE of the best?  Absolutely.  But anybody that swears he is the one QB they would want with their life hanging on the line, they are lying to themselves.  Others have done that better.

I was too young to watch Elway when he was real great, but whenever people call him the GOAT, I don't see it cause the best player on those Broncos teams was Terrell not him.

And I know NT hates it when yo bring up players who were retired before you were born, but Unitas should be in GOAT conversations.

agreed 100%.

I'll never say he's the GOAT, but I can understand the debate.  He's in that discussion.  But like you said, it just can't be proven.  Marino has the stats, but no rings....Brady has rings, but also his share of losses and the "argument" that he's a system QB (whatever that means), Elway had big-time failures before he went out on top, Manning 9-9, and Montana....well, that's my #1, but again....I can understand the debate if someone wants to put any of those other guys in that top spot.  Like you said, CP...there's no way to prove said QB is the GOAT....it makes for good discussion, but there is no right/wrong answer.  If you all choose to debate this, try to look at it objectively rather than not trying to hear other peoples opinions on the topic.

Peyton throwing that pic keeps my boy Favre in my top 5....he no longer looks like the lone choker of the top 5 qbs

what?!?!....Favre gets heat for throwin pics in big games so alot of ppl knock him...but they admit he is one of the greats....Peyton is like the perfect qb but he throws a pic in a big game lol....thats about even to me.... both top 5 they throw pics... big deal

n Brady is Aikman/Young like to me *shrugs*

n hell no Favre my qb and all but Manning > Favre

CP and double js have said all that is needed. Plus I think it is hard to judge a career before it is over. People just want to label something so quickly now days, no sense of taking all the information in, digesting it, and coming to an objective conclusion. Too many extremes both ways

Hopefully this stops some of the ridiculous statements in this thread, great post.

Lettin' initial emotions dicate the status of an all-time great to the point where "loser" and "pick 6 bound to happen" like it were Favre is all non sense. NT stays the home of hypebeast/hypebeast haters. Totally irrational.

Initial emotions?????

It's been OVER A DECADE of playoff failure.  That ain't initial anything man.  That's stone cold facts.  Brees in one game has equaled what this supposed greatest of all time has.  Trent Dilfer got the same titles that Peyton, aka, GOAT, has.  Initial my @#$, dudes stay makin excuses for the guy and we're callin em out for it.

So, what the heck you trying to call out me for? Nothing that you said proved to me you had any idea what I was talking about.

If you look at the quotes I'm targeting the fools that jumped on the computer after the Manning interception and started throwing around descriptions of Peyton that in no way show any significant display of football knowledge and was all based purely on hate or some other motive.

I don't care to argue that he's mediocre in the playoffs/SB's, because it's true. I'm talking about those people that get caught up in the moment and are quick to judge and throw Manning under the bus. It's silly to argue so much against an all-time great when the book is still open on the guy.

He will have more chances to win another one...who is the greatest of all time???...I don't know...Manning still has a lot of time...but don't forget about Montana.

Wow. Well I have lived in New England for my entire life so I remember very well all the times I was able to laugh at all these Patriots fans and at how Brady has not come through. And I know the game of football better than any other game. I played from the time I was 7 years old all the way until I was 23. To call me out for not knowing football is just hilarious. My college football coach even told me I had the "best football iq he has ever coached." So why would you call me out on "not knowing what i am talking about" when you you don't even know me. It shows your true colors.
